Where to send your order

Following now are details of my low cost postal rates.

Postage Details

Note that delivery cost is always per order and not per item, and that VAT (where applicable) needs to be paid on postage cost and not just the item total. This is required under VAT law, when a supplier has to charge VAT on all provided goods and services. See below for more details on VAT payment.

I strongly recommend that instead of calculating the order total yourself that you use my automatic Order Form located here. As this automatic calculation will avoid customer calculation errors and false assumptions leading to delays dispatching your order.

Now to find out the highly accurate postage cost yourself, then first you will need to calculate the total item weight. To do this find out the Gross Weight of each item that you wish to order (listed below each item price) and add these all together to arrive at the total item weight.

Do not forget to check for any special offers listed on my Special Offers page, when although this item may be free, you will still have to pay to have it shipped to you. This means that you should add the Gross Weigh of all applicable Special Offers to the total item weigh before proceeding, or your postage payment could be incorrect.

Once you have your total item weight calculated, then just see the following tables in order to obtain the postage cost.

If you have any problems doing any of these calculations yourself then just ask for an order calculation quote, but don't forget to mention how many and which items (by Ordering Code) it is that you wish to purchase.

Not to forget in which country it has to be delivered to.

Payment Methods

Payment in Cash (£ / Sterling / GBP)

One of the best and most common methods is to just send Cash, when this avoids all bank charges and speeds up dispatch of your order.

Please always send Cash using a registered form of post, such as Special Delivery in the UK allows you to see where your order is at every stage of the delivery process.

If you decided to send coins (which I never recommend doing) then please always secure these firmly between two pieces of card. As lose coins means holes and no coins on receipt.

And I should point out that by "card" I mean as in that found on cereal packets for example, when double walled cardboard is a touch too thick folded in two, when some people like to get carried away. Please never tape coins to your order form, when this causes no end of problems.

The other thing I need to add to this is that it is no good firmly securing your coins between two pieces of card if you end up putting this in a cheap thin envelope, when sure enough I have seen such envelopes with their side split completely open and none of the mentioned money contained within.

For this reason, then to avoid your money being eaten up by the postal system, then at minimum please use a suitable quality envelope. Best of all are bubble-lined mailing bags, the Special Delivey mailing bags, or thick walled mailing bags.

The last thing I have to mention is what Sterling currency I can accept, where this happens to be all 'currently in use' notes and coins issued by... the Bank of England, the Bank of Scotland, The Royal Bank of Scotland, the Clydesdale Bank PLC, the Bank of Ireland, the First Trust Bank, the Northern Bank, the Ulster Bank, The Isle of Man Bank [Manx], The States of Jersey and The States of Guernsey. I can also accept the Sterling-linked currencies issued within Gibraltar, Falkland Islands and Saint Helena.

Since many other local English traders even refuse to accept GBP issued within Scotland and Northern Island then I have to point out that English law states that banks have to accept all Sterling and Sterling-linked currencies at the 1 to 1 rate charge free. So my account gets credited and I can withdraw my Bank of England notes while my local bank sends these other notes and coins back to the source country. Customers obtaining GBP from other countries are likely to only obtain Sterling issue by the Bank of England.

Payment in Cash (€ / Euro / EUR)

I can now accept the Euro cash just as easily as Sterling cash with the one small exception, where this one exception is that I cannot accept any coin below the value of 1 Euro. This is because this country is not yet one of the member countries who have joined the Euro, which means that I have no current use for such small value coins.

So in this case please round your payment to the nearest 1 Euro. However,if you just wish to send notes, then the lowest Euro note value is currently 5 EUR, but in the case of notes then always round upwards.

Accepting the Euro this way I consider of a great advantage to my customers. What I mean is that all Euro values shown on this site are at the direct currency rate (no buy/sell rates) allowing for some small exchange rate drifting.

Please always send Euro Cash using a registered form of post, which is to ensure a safe delivery.

If you decided to send coins (€1 and €2 only) then please always secure these firmly between two pieces of card. As lose coins often means holes and no coins on receipt.

And I should point out that by "card" I mean as in that found on cereal packets for example, when double walled cardboard is a touch too thick, where some people like to get carried away.

Best of all are bubble-lined mailing bags or thick walled mailing bags.

Payment in Cash ($ / US Dollar / USD)

For many years now I have accepted this Cash as foreign currency only, where a handling and conversion change would then make the cost involved higher than what it should ideally be. However, that has now changed now that I can spend the US Dollar a lot more easily.

That means that I can now accept US Dollar Cash at the true exchange rate, which means that paying me in Sterling, US Dollar or the Euro makes no difference, when they are all worth the exact same value.

The only limit on US Dollar Cash is that I cannot accept any coins at all, when these I cannot spend. And so please always round your order total to the closest 1 Dollar, which due to the low value of this note would not make much difference.

Finally, please always send US Dollar Cash using a registered form of post, which is to ensure a safe delivery.

Payment in Cash (Most Foreign Currencies)

Paying in your local currency for those outside the United Kingdom is equally the fastest and lowest cost method available to you. And as I provide low cost transfer rates, then it will be often cheaper for you than with sending GBP instead, but this depends on the rounding.

Again I recommend that a registered form of post is used, where most countries provide a method to see where your order is and provide insurance against loss.

Now to pay in your local currency then you will need to use my currency converter located here. Please do not send any notes below the minimum value that I can accept, and no coins can be accepted at all.

Cheques (£ / Sterling / GBP)

I welcome all Cheques in Sterling payable from a UK bank. This is a common method for the residents of the United Kingdom. Also many foreign residents can also use this method when their local bank will issue a Cheque in GBP for a small fee.

All Sterling Cheques should be made payable to "Mr S Fakley". And to provide my fast service I do not usually wait for cheques to clear. However, this is done at my choice, when I have no obligation to dispatch any order until payment is received.

Cheques (€ / Euro / EUR)

I do not currently accept EUR Cheques. This is due to mostly all customers either paying me in EUR Cash or through PayPal's EUR payment option. So it was not worth paying for a service that only a few people used.

No doubt I will provide this payment option again in the future when it is more viable to do so.

Checks ($ / US Dollar / USD)

I do not currently accept USD Checks. This is due to mostly all customers either paying me in USD Cash or through PayPal's USD payment option. So it was not worth paying for a service that only a few people used.

No doubt I will provide this payment option again in the future when it is more viable to do so.

Postal Orders

UK Postal Orders are welcome, but will cost you a small extra charge by your local post office to use this service.

Please do not cross postal orders. As for example paying a £1 Postal Order into my business bank account would make my bank get 87p of that amount (60p for the item and 27p for the credit) and so I just get left with 13p.

And so to leave me with any money, then I must prefer to use the zero charge Post Office.

I have had to change this payment option slightly recently, when the Post Office right behind my house where I usually cash your Postal Orders has been closed. Since the nearest Post Office is now several miles away, then I now prefer paying these into my CitiBank Sterling account instead, but please still do not cross postal orders, when I will still cash them at that remote post office from time to time.

Please make all Postal Orders made payable to "Mr S Fakley", when this makes cashing your postal orders a lot more flexible than with using my business / alias name. Even if that is still an option if you want to force me to travel out into the wastelands to cash them.

Debit and Credit Cards

I do not yet offer Debit and Credit card support directly, which means that it is no use sending me your card details, when I simply cannot use them.

However, you can still pay for your order using your debit or credit through my on-line payment options these days. This currently includes the services of NoChex, PayPal, MoneyBookers and possibly others.

Please see my Order Form details page located here concerning further information about immediate on-line payment using your Debit or Credit card.

COD - Payment on Delivery

I do not usually provide this method except in special cases, when there is really no need and it incurs extra charges and takes longer to sort out.

However, I am well aware that many customers have concerns about who they are dealing with, where indeed that is the reason why I Cardman exists.

And so if you have doubts about my normally excellent service then why not ask some of my former customers, when many of them hang out in alt.satellite.tv.europe on the Usenet. As the most safe payment method is always knowing who you are dealing with first.

International Money Orders

All residents of the United States and Canada often like to use this system. However, this so called International system is not very International outside the United States and Canada.

Usually my bank will refuse to process International Money Orders, but there is the rare exception such as IMOs from the Western Union bank, which is considered one of the better US banks.

I do not recommend sending any IMOs, when either my bank will reject them straight away, or they will delay your order at least a week while they try to process it, which may then be rejected.

Also this accepting or rejecting of an IMO by my bank is quite variable, then if you send me an IMO I will have no idea until it is rejected or it clears if I can accept it.

So with this knowledge then if you have no cares over delivery time for your order, then send me an IMO if you wish. However, you should include an extra £3 to pay for the bank handling fee with your order total, where you should make your IMO made payable to "Mr S Fakley".

Bank Wire Transfers (£ / Sterling / GBP) (from the UK)

Any money sent to my business bank account from within the UK will always have the amount sent by your bank arrive with the correct total value at my bank. So this means that unlike with direct transfers from outside the UK method (below) there is no extra transfer correction fee to pay.

So just by going to your bank and issuing a CHAPS transfer will then ensure that I receive your payment just one or two days later. However, since many banks change a rip-off price of £20 to use this manual service, then there is a much cheaper option. As just by visiting any branch of Lloyds-TSB within the UK, and paying cash in using a standard no charge deposit form, will then save you an instant £20 thanks to my wise advice.

We can also be thankful that modern Internet Banking can now handle such a transfer charge free, but that of course can depend on your exact account type.

As such a payment can take a couple of days to reach my account, with a further day before my on-line account statement shows your transfer, then in the end you may wish to use a faster payment method.

My account details are not listed here so that you have to ask for them, when this is done to stop customers sending me money without saying what it is for. Also when you ask you will have to say what you want to buy (use ordering codes!) and where you wish this order to be sent. When this is to ensure that I have all the required details before you send me the payment, and that you have the correct order total in the first place.

And following all this, you just then need to tell me once the transfer has been issued, when I can then watch out for this payment to arrive and then dispatch your order when it has.

One new option is that you can now issue Bank Transfer requests through my on-line order form, when using this method will automatically provide me with your complete order details before you send payment to my bank account.

Bank Wire Transfers (£ / Sterling / GBP) (from outside the UK)

Almost all people around the World can have their local bank wire me your order total in GBP directly to my bank account.

Although you would think this was one of the fastest and most safe methods seeing that your bank will have confirmation of both dispatch and receipt, this is far from the case. Transfers usually take between 2 and 4 days depending on if you wish a standard or fast transfer, and so for standard transfers using the postal system is faster for those within Europe.

Now why direct transfers is one of the last safe transfer methods that I have ever encountered is due to the issuing bank themselves. As sure you will 100% of the time have your payment arrive, but 50% of the time what you send it not what is received the other end.

The reason for this missing amount is because your issuing bank do not actually do the transfer themselves, when they actually pay a third company who deal with lots of foreign currency transfers to do it for them.

And the problem is that your bank should pay them their fees involved with doing your transfer, but often they do not. And as this company will want paying for their services, then they deduct their fee from your order total. This fee I find ranges between 2 and 11 GBP which is totally variable other then lower value orders pay less.

Now because of this I have been warning my customers wishing to do a transfer that their payment may end up short, where they should tell their bank that they wish to pay all transfer costs (called an OUR transfer method). Also that they should get their bank to give a blood oath that this deduction would not occur.

As I have seen that has not helped one bit, when half of all transfers still end up short. And what is more getting a correction issued just makes things worse. Like one customer who had his order just 2 GBP short when showing proof to his bank that what he paid had was not what was received was lucky enough to have his bank issue a correction. The only problem was that once again they did not pay this third company their fee, and so 2 GBP minus the 2 GBP transfer cost meant that zero was transferred to my bank.

Other customers have issued a second correction transfer themselves, where what with the extra costs involved and the time to sort all this out, then customers can find this quite costly and several weeks can pass. And when a deduction has been known to occur once then still being short after a second transfer has been known to occur.

So that is why direct transfers to my bank account is often the least reliable, longest and most full of problems payment system that exists. Also it is not often a cheap payment method in the first place due to the normal banking fees involved.

Now as customers do like to use this method due to the confirmation of receipt of their payment then I have now had to impose a change.

And from now on people wishing to do a direct transfer to my account will have to pay an additional £5 to their order total. As this will pay for deductions that occur in all the transfers that I receive.

Customers within the United Kingdom, European Union, North America and places like Australia and New Zealand do not have to pay this charge, when this problem seems to result from banks in places like Asia and the Middle East not supporting the required OUR payment method.

As this unexpected deduction is now paid for before you issue the transfer, then no correction transfer will be needed, which will greatly speed up the dispatch of your order.

You will still need to specify that you wish to pay ALL TRANSFER COSTS (the OUR method) to your bank, when I will know if you do not.

Now if you do wish to use this method, then you will need to ask me for my banking details. As before you get them I need to know what you want, who you are, and where you wish this order sent to. As yes people have been known to send me money without any order details.

So your order can now be dispatched as soon as payment is received, except those fewB who did not pay for all the bank's normal transfer charges.

Also don't forget that you can now issue Bank Wire Transfers through my Order Form as well these days, when once you have provided all your order details, then so will my banking details be revealed.
